The ‘would-be-nice’ list

As for what goes on theĀ  Woul-Be-Nice list it is crucial to know what you want from your garden, how much time and money you’re willing to spend and who will use your garden.

Who will use the garden?
We as a family of five will use it. Maybe the occasional visit from friends and family.

What do we want from our garden?
This is the hard question. I’d like it to be a natural environment for the kids, a place to relax, a place to grow vegetables and fruit. It also should provide some fun parts for the kids so there will be a swingset of some kind and they’ll have their own veggie bed to dig into and grow some things.
I’d love to have flowers of every season so I’ll have some to decorate at home or bring as a present. I’d like to start beekeeping in a few years too. But time will tell. And to have my own veggie garden will be a dream come true. Having legumes you can’t get at the farmers maket or at the grocery store will be a nice addition to our table.

Ideas

As the weather was hard on us the past weeks and we had a birthday and Easter coming up nothing happend outdoors. But we made our minds up about what we want to achieve this year. Nothing fancy but it needs to be done.

- built a fence
- built a little shed for the tools
- plant trees
- plant berries

That is the ‘must do’ list.
More on the ‘would be nice’ list later.

Hi There!

So here we go. First post here. Not many people are going to read this post so I probably just keep on writing anyway. Today our garden is just an abandoned field that waits for new purposes. A few weeks ago we already outlined our garden and now we’re waiting for our former renter to make all of it smooth and resow it with some grass. MBH considered doing it by hand but I quickly encouraged him to wait for the big machine to do it. Levelling 600 square meters by hand? No thanks. So more time for plan making and getting hyped.
